| A few words... | The film is a collage of memories of Kamli, who comes to demolish a hospital, and remembers how she protested here against the injustice meted out to her. Kamli and Redya are wayside laborers in the city of Hyderabad. Kamli under the pressure of tribal community, which is known to indulge in female feticide and killing infant girls on their birth, considering them as ill omen, has sold a girl child earlier. She is once again pregnant in the city. Her husband Redya wants to sell the baby girl to get rid of his debts. The male child that Kamli delivers is swapped and a female baby is kept in its place. While she sits in protest against this injustice Redya sees an opportunity to sell the child. Kamli protests. Redya leaves, but the media picks up Kamli's protest as Government orders a DNA test on the child. When her child is restored, learning that the baby girl is now an orphan, unwanted by its parents, Kamli takes a momentous decision and takes the baby girl also with her. |
