| A few words... | Sanwari lives in a small village in Rajasthan. Shobha Devi works for a government organization fighting for the rights of women and against the marriage of girls under age. Sanwari joins the movement reluctantly, but material benefits finally convince her and she succeeds in making other women join the organization. For the village's upper cast men this means a threat. When one day Sanwari is gang raped by the men, Shobha Devi brings her case to court. But Shobha Devi definitely underestimated the political influence of the village chiefs. The accused are found not guilty. In the village Sanwari and her husband are isolated and visitors from outside cannot help improve their situation. |
