A few words...Aftershocks is a documentary about the tragic consequences of the Gujarati earthquake of the 26th January 2001, which killed more then 20000 people and left ten thousands homeless. Rakesh Sharma shows the fate of the remote villages Julrai and Umarsar near the Indo Pakistani border. The Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, which runs a lignite mine in the region tries to make use of the situation by displacing and resettling the population of the two villages that has survived the catastrophy.
