| A few words... | Gandhi, My Father is the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi's eldest son Harilal Gandhi. The relationsship between the two was marked by constant conflict. At the peak of this conflict Harilal Gandhi converted to Islam and called himself Abdullah Gandhi. He later became a Hindu again. Harilal was known for his excessive lifestyle. He was an alcoholic and died shortly after his father's death. The film is based on a book on Harilal Gandhi and the first production of the famous Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. |
