| A few words... | Surya, the son of a rich farmer, is forced to give up his studies to look after the family business. His marriage with the young Saryu is also arranged by his family. Surya moves to a farmhouse, where Lakshmi works as a servant. Surya is attracted to Lakshmi. When Lakshmi's husband Kishtaya, a deaf-mute alcoholic, is caught in a theft, he is punished by Surya and runs away from the village. Lakshmi's and Surya's days of love are over, when one day Surya's wife arrives at the farmhouse to stay with her husband. One day Kishtaya returns to the village with the money he has earned outside the village. He finds his wife pregnant, but does not know, that Surya is the father. |
